This is a mountain filled with luck

In Mandarin the word “Fu” means luck and “Shan” means mountain, so Fu-Shan in Mandarin means mountain filled with luck. The Atayal tribe at Fu-Shan is located 17km away from Wulai, and its surrounded by mountains and the Nan-Shih creek. Apart from the beautiful mountains and rich natural resources, the Atayal tribe in Fu-Shan is the only tribe left with aborigine’s culture in New Taipei City area. In this amazing tribe, people are happy, pure, and hospitable, but living in remote areas like Fu-Shan is hard in modern days. So people tends to move to the cities.

“But what if the Atayal people can do what they do best, while showing the Atayal pride to others.” The volunteers from outside the tribe suggested. After a meeting with the Atayal people in Fu-Shan, they decide to create job opportunity by making Fu-Shan a tourist site.
