Fu-Shan Elementary School

Fu-Shan Elementary School was founded on December, 1917, which is more than 100 years from now. Fu-Shan’s population are mostly Atayal aboriginals, so it’s basically a small village. The school only has 7 classes including a kindergarten class. Although the schools has only 40 students, but it is the only school in the city that was originally built for the education of Atayal aboriginals. The motto of the school is holistic education, pass on the Atayal culture, and sustain the environment.

Wuchong creek Waterfall

Wuchong creek Waterfall

This waterfall is located at the south edge of Wulai. The waterfall formed because the hardness of the rocks are different causing gaps to form between them. This waterfall never stops running and the water are so clear that it’s almost transparent.

Rimogang

Rimogang, a place where three creeks meet. This place was once the strongest tribe in the Wulai area during the Japanese colonization. It was also the place where the Atayal tribes from Yilan, Taoyuan, and Wulan gathers. Now there are just some houses left and a few grocery stores.

Daloran Creek

At the time when there wasn’t any road signs or road names, the Atayal people from different tribes will gather at where two creeks meet. In Atayal’s language the word “Tranan” means where two creeks meet, it was then translated into mandarin and became Daloran. There are many fishes in the creek, one of the fishes in it is called Shoveljaw carp. When the sunlight meets the belly of the Shoveljaw carp, it reflects a bright light that looks like a shooting star.

Klmut

Klmut is a small village that lies beside the Nanshih Creek. The first thing that you see when walking towards the village is the tall watch tower that was built a long time ago for defense purposes. Now a days the watch tower is used for education and sightseeing purposes. Ahead of the watch tower is a bridge linked to the old village of Klmut, which is now used for farming purposes. During spring season, the view of the cherry blossom is simply magnificent. Walking through the old hunting path, there is a highpoint where you can enjoy the view of the whole village from high up.
